I am Harrison. This blog is all about the songs I like.
Actually I am Josh the Brother of Harrison. Harrison is incredibly handsome and smart.
When September Ends is a catchy Green Day song about today. Sing everything to the tune of this song.
The other song I was going to mention is nobody's fault but mine by led zeppelin. The song is the centerpiece of the seventh album. The seventh Led Zeppelin album, Presence, is a significant departure from the eclectic style of all of the other albums. They eschew the varied styles that they usually embraced in favor of a laser-focused zeal for Page & Cos. trademark high gain riffing. I believe the album was recorded quickly in a period when the band was convalescing from the excesses of the rock'n'roll lifestyle. The album opens with the astonishing guitar symphony, Achilles Last Stand, and closes with the excellent British Blues of Tea for One, which rehashes their earlier Since I've Been Loving You. In the middle of the Album is Nobody's fault but Mine (and in the middle of that is the harmonica solo, sort of like the keystone of the entire opus.)
So, basically, Nobody's Fault but Mine is one of the best Led Zeppelin songs. The extremely anguished vocals, the dramatic pauses, and the angst-laden lyrics that prefigured the writings of Linkin Park and their ilk combine to evoke a tense hard rock anthem. And the harmonica solo! It's like the essence of manic depression distilled and squeezed out to form sixty seconds of pure bliss.
