Poem: 3 February 2011

There are moments
when each sensation
seems to hit me so hard
the breeze in my hair
cold air on my skin
rush of wind in my ear
the light and shadows
colors of the mountains
I feel good about
the life I live

  1. The snow ever falling
    A throng of white dots
    My footsteps are crunchy
    It's icy in spots

    It's coming down faster
    obscuring the land
    and oceanless beach
    full of frozen white sand

    The soft ever-present
    melodious sound
    of millions of flakes
    softly kissing the ground

    so gently it drowns out
    the everyday noise
    of tvs, computers,
    electronic toys,

    and all of the loud
    daily joys we pursue
    believing there isn't much
    better to do

    The snow and the wind
and the clouds and the sun
don't care if we heed them
    They just carry on

    The snow bids farewell
to the sky as it drops
    The snow ever falling.

    At least til it stops

  2. TYPO: "An oceanless beach", not "and".
